what are mods and where did it all begin?
The mod, or modernist subculture began in London in the late 1950's but didn't really become popular nor well known until the mid 1960's. It was again briefly revived during the later decades. Heavily influenced by music, television, films and fashion, the subculture has its roots in a small group of London-based stylish young men rebelling against the formality of their parents 40's and 50's upbringing as well as the working class stereotype of the time.
